The origin and history of Zippers
A zipper is a devise for fastening and joining two pieces of fabric. Though its utility started of with clothing it extended to other items like luggage bags, camping gear and sports goods. Coming to its history, if you thought it was an invention on this earth within last 10 to 15 years I am sorry to disappoint you. Zipper’s history dates back to more than 150 years. The idea was first developed by Elias Howe (the inventor of Sewing Machine) in 1851 for a device called “Automatic Clothing Continuous Closure.”
